I missed this today when president Obama appeared on Meet The Press and only saw it later when I reviewed the transcript. Obama actually said the following:
We’ve got to do more effective diplomatic work to eliminate the schism between Sunni and Shia that has been fueling so much of the violence in Syria, in Iraq.
I find it hard to listen too closely to Obama for too long because so much of what he says is wrong or intentionally false. The quoted statement, however, is monumentally stupid, even for president Obama.
Let's put this into proper context. The schism between Sunni and Shia Moslems has existed since the eight century. That's 1300 years in total, a rather long time for a schism to persist. Obama's goal is to send some diplomats and eliminate the schism? Maybe he should also send some diplomats to eliminate world hunger, greed, disease and every ill known to man. And why stop there? If Obama's diplomats can bridge the schism between Sunni and Shia, maybe they should next start working on the differences between Christianity and Islam. Maybe we could all follow sharia law but only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If we throw in Judaism, maybe we could all go to a synagogue on Saturdays too.
Years ago, there was a guy named Art Linkletter who interviewed five and six year old kids. The bit was called "Kids say the darnedest things." Maybe Chuck Todd could bring it back instead of Meet The Press. I can see it now: "Obama Says the Darnedest Things!"

Obama thinks to much like his Golf Game. He doesn't like the shot He takes a mulligan. He does the same thing as President. He says or does the wrong thing. He takes a MULLIGAN. Which is effectively LYING to himself and the Citizens.
Once there is another attack on OUR SOIL. What will this BOZO DO. Take a Mulligan?
