Injecting Honesty Into Public Discourse

Just think about the last week:

1.  President Obama actually blamed the intelligence agencies for missing the rise of ISIS even though there have been repeated public statements including testimony before Congress by these same agencies about the danger from those terrorists.

2.  An man in Oklahoma beheads a co-worker and almost kills another.  The killer is a convert to Islam who has ties to radical imams.  He has pictures of the 9-11 attack on his Facebook page along with an explanation as to why it was all America's fault.  He also has made repeated attempts to get his co-workers to convert to Islam and has told them all that strict sharia law was coming.  Oh, and he uses the method of beheading his victim, a clear reference to the now infamous videos from ISIS.  But were are told that this is being classified as "workplace violence" instead of terrorism.  When this happens, the talking heads on MSNBC, otherwise known as "Obama's hallelujah chorus" explain over and over again why that classification is proper.

3.  After telling the world that America's mission is to destroy ISIS, Obama basically stands by and lets ISIS continue to attack our friends, the Kurds in Syria.  America has the power to thwart that attack by ISIS with a withering air campaign, but Obama does nothing until he is finally shamed into sending two planes to hit ISIS.

4.  At the UN, Obama tells the world that while there is Islamic terrorism in many places around the world, terrorism that leads to hundreds of dead innocent people killed to advance a sick ideology, America had its own problems in Ferguson, Missouri.  The president actually equates a shooting by law enforcement which is still under investigation with suicide bombings, mass beheadings, multiple crucifixions and even the burying of men alive by ISIS.

The list is longer, but the point is made.  Nothing that comes out of the mouth of Obama and his people can be believed.  We are no longer at a point where the trust of the American people in their president has been shaken.  No, today, there can be no trust in what Obama has to say; he is a constant liar.

For many decades, charges of one president or another saying something that was untrue have swirled through Washington.  Some alleged lies had little basis in fact.  Others (like Clinton's about Lewinsky) were clearly lies, but they were one-time things that had an understandable cause..  What is new with Obama, however, is that the lies are coming non-stop and that the lies are put out there even when nearly the entire country clearly understands that what is being said is not true.  In other words, Obama actually is a pathological liar.  He cannot help himself, or so it seems.

Something has to be done to inject honesty back into the public discourse.  America cannot debate the best course for our country when we cannot even believe what we are told about events that are transpiring.
