Meanwhile, In Syria, It's Raining Poison Gas

There is now confirmation that ISIS forces in Syria have been using poison gas against the Kurdish forces during the last month.  NGO's with representatives in the area have independently verified that chemical weapons were in fact used by ISIS on four different occasions against the Kurdish Peshmerga forces.

It cannot be a surprise to anyone that ISIS is using chemical weapons.  The Assad forces have returned to using those weapons this year despite agreeing earlier to stop their use and to destroy their stockpiles.  President Obama made a big deal about the wonderful deal he got with the Assad regime in that regard.  Assad promised to not use chemical weapons and Obama promised not to take any action against Assad's regime.  It remains to be seen what, if anything, the White House will do now that there is confirmation of chemical use by both Assad and ISIS forces.

The sad thing is that of the groups fighting in Syria, the ones who are most friendly to the USA are the Kurds.  ISIS views America as the enemy.  Assad also views us as an enemy (just like his main benefactors Iran and Hezbollah.)  The al Nusrah front is part of al Qaeda, and we all know what that group thinks of us.  The Druze, the Yazidis and the few remaining local Christians are just caught in the crossfire.  There are local "moderate" rebels; America is supposedly training them to fight.  So far, the USA has training underway for 60 men instead of the 6000 that were supposed to be trained.  At that rate, the moderate army will lose members to old age before it ever gets up to strength.  The Kurds are the only friendly force that is actually fighting ISIS on the ground in Syria.  Now the Kurds are getting hit again with chemical weapons and America is doing nothing.  We aren't even giving the Kurds equipment to protect themselves against the chemicals.

It is a national disgrace that Obama is prepared to give out enemy Iran $150 billion in exchange for a unenforceable and non-verifiable promise not to build nuclear weapons, but he won't give our long time friends, the Kurds, even ten million dollars worth of equipment to protect themselves from illegal chemical weapons used by mass murdering ISIS.

If there ever was a Nobel Prize for Idiocy, we have a winner in the White House.
