Why is Bill Cosby Different?

The ongoing story of Bill Cosby continues in the news.  Today, the last Hollywood project connected to Cosby cut ties with the comedian.  Cosby is on the naughty list in Hollywood because he allegedly had either consensual or non-consensual sex with a series of women.  I just wonder why Cosby is any different than Roman Polanski, the director.  Polanski admitted years ago that he had raped a 13 year old girl.  He fled the country to avoid going to jail.  Since then, however, he has continued to make films which are connected to major studios.  Why should Cosby be treated differently that Polanski?  Either they are both rapists to be shunned or their actions ought to be ignored.  It makes no sense to ignore the acts of the admitted rapist of a young girl while shunning the alleged rapist who contests that he ever raped anyone.

Of course, it remains Hollywood.  These are the same people who go crazy when one of the Duggar children admits to molesting his sister by touching her through her clothes but who don't care one bit when Lena Dunham admits to molesting her siblings in a similar way.  They are all hypocrites.
