Threats to Black Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado

In the last few days, signs were posted outside New Covenant Church in Colorado Springs with threatening messages signed by the KKK.  New Covenant Church is attended mostly by blacks.  The signs had the churchgoers on edge and led to police surveillance.

Today, the perpetrator was caught.  He confessed to having put up all the signs.  His name is Vincent Broughton.  Here is his picture which was released by the Colorado Springs Police:

There is no word yet why an African American was posting threats to his fellow blacks.  It has been confirmed, however, that Broughton is not affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan.

Most likely, this is an attempt to get people in Colorado to believe that there is racial discord in Colorado Springs.  Since Colorado Springs is an area that votes heavily Republican, it is no surprise that the phony effort would go down there.
