I just read that the terrorist who shot up the high speed train in northern France before being subdued by three brave American men is now claiming to be "dumbfounded" that he is being accused of terrorism. According to the man who is a Moslem from Morocco and who has been living in Europe for nearly a decade, he found a suitcase filled with weapons in a park in Brussels and decided to use those weapons to rob the people on the train. Ha, ha, ha. I can't even write this nonsense without laughing.
The terrorist brought an assault rifle, a hand gun and enormous quantities of ammo on the train along with a knife (box cutter). He never told anyone that he was robbing the train; instead, he just came out of the rest room holding the weapons and opened fire. When the American serviceman jumped him, he used his knife to cut the American very badly. Then he was subdued.
Someone who wanted to rob the passengers would not have done so in between stations. There is no way off a train travelling 175 miles pre hour. If he were a robber, he would understand that he needed to get away with his loot. Someone who wanted to rob the passengers would have told those passengers to turn over their valuables. He never did that. Someone who wanted to rob the passengers would not have waited for more than a day to have his lawyer announce that it was just a robbery gone wrong.
What's next? Will we hear that the people who subdued the terrorist used excessive force? Will we see protests in San Francisco or St. Louis over the brutal methods employed to stop the killing? Nothing would surprise me.
