In an update to my prior post about the confrontation between Donald Trump and Jorge Ramos last night, I think it is worth noting that we had warning that something like this was coming. A few weeks ago, an event for Bernie Sanders was disrupted by the Black Lives Matter crew. Sanders response was to give them the microphone. Then when they wouldn't give the mike back, Sanders just threw up his arms and left. He never got to speak to the thousand people who had come to hear him and not the protesters. At the time, Trump said that Sanders was weak and that he would never let that happen at one of his events. So last night, when Ramos started disrupting the Trump event, Trump had his security people escort Ramos out of the place (at least temporarily-- Ramos came back in a bit.)
The contrast is striking. Instead of worrying about how many votes Ramos could sway, Trump did the right thing and kept the meeting orderly. I don't think I could vote for Trump, but I respect what he did.
