The only good news lately for Hillary Clinton is that we are in the second half of August when most people aren't paying attention. Unfortunately for Hillary, that does not include the FBI. Much has happened and even the mainstream media is paying attention.
1. CBS News is reporting that another front has opened in the investigation regarding Hillary's failure to secure classified information. CBS says that the State Department has confirmed that it never issued a computer or phone to Mrs. Clinton, so that means that she used her own devices. That also means that her phone, for example, did not have the State Departments full suite of intrusion protection measures on it. Putting classified information onto an unsecure device is actually a federal crime.
2. NPR is reporting that the government inquiry into Hillary's email system and its use for sending and receiving classified information is about to expand into a full blown criminal investigation. NPR cites government "lawyers familiar with the situation" as its source. It rushes to add, of course, that Hillary may not be the target, but it also points out that Hillary's new mantra that she did not receive anything "marked" classified is a way of denying knowledge so that proof of intent would be harder to prove. In other words, Hillary is already in defense mode when it comes to a potential criminal investigation.
3. The New York Times even gets into the act. It is reporting that Hillary's allies and supporters are dismayed by her clumsy attempts to deal with the email investigation. The Times points to Hillary's walking out early from a press conference after Ed Henry of Fox News pressed her on the presence of classified information on her email system.
The reality is that we are now at the point where all news about Hillary Clinton pertains to the investigation or her disastrous discussion with the Black Lives Matter crew. It's all bad news, all the time. No wonder her poll numbers are tanking. And if she's lost her media defenders, she's in big, big trouble.
