Is the Treatment of Hillary Clinton Sexist?

In the last few years we have seen a number of prosecutions of people for mishandling classified information.  General David Petreus was prosecuted because he had some classified information in a drawer in his desk at home. He had to resign as director of the CIA and his career was destroyed.  A sailor was prosecuted because he sent his wife a selfie that he took on board a navy ship in front of some classified equipment.  His career was destroyed as well.  A few years back, the former national security advisor to Bill Clinton was found taking classified information out of the National Archives; he was convicted and his career was destroyed.

Now we have Hillary Clinton.  She mishandled classified information by sending Top Secret stuff on a private unsecured email system.  Because of her, nation security secrets ended up on a computer server in a bathroom of some apartment in Denver.  And she sent classified information this way hundreds, and perhaps thousands of times.  But she is not being prosecuted.  She has not been indicted.  The government has taken no action against her.  How can this be?

The answer may be that Hillary is being treated differently because she is a woman.  In fact, the silence of the many women's groups that usually denounce sexism is surprising.  In 2015, we ought not to see different treatment of a woman based upon her gender.  Hillary deserves to be indicted and these groups ought to be demanding it.
