New York Democrat Chuck Schumer announced yesterday that he will vote against the Iran deal on nuclear weapons. Schumer is part of the Democrat leadership of the senate and has already been endorsed by Harry Reid to become the Democrat leader when Reid retires at the end of 2016. Losing his vote is a big blow to president Obama.
That being said, it is still an uphill fight to defeat the Iran agreement. The idea that Obama will be unable to find 34 Democrats in the senate to vote with him is almost silly. Still, if Schumer can see the light, then who know.
