Someone Should Tell the AP It Won't Work

The Clinton staffer who set up her private unsecured email system told Congress that he would refuse to answer questions on the grounds that doing so might tend to incriminate him.  That's right, Hillary's IT guy is taking the Fifth Amendment.  We all know what that means.  The staffer knows that he could be in big trouble if he reveals what was done.

This story will all unfold over the next two weeks.  Right now, however, the Clinton camp is dealing with a total disaster.  Hillary's former staff is running for shelter in order to avoid prison.  Maybe this staffer warned Hillary that she would be putting national secrets at risk with her private unsecured email system.  If he went ahead and set up the system after that, it would be a federal crime.  We just don't know yet.

The point of this post, however, is to discuss the attempt by the AP to give Hillary cover so that she can come up with a way to deal with this disaster.  Here's the latest AP headline on the story:

Clinton camp urged ex-State Dept. employee to testify

Then the AP story quotes representative Ellijah Cummings (another Hillary supporter) who says he understands why the staffer would take the fifth given the crazy claims being made about Hillary's email.

The reality is that Hillary went around federal law and regs and set up a private unsecured email system.  Then she proceeded to use that system to send and receive information that was classified and even TOP SECRET.  For example, the emails had on it information about North Korean nuclear weapons obtained from US spy satellites.  Clearly, anyone including Hillary Clinton had to know that this was classified.  No amount of posturing by Clinton or the AP is going to change these facts.  Someone should tell the AP that their games won't work.
