Carly Fiorina made it into the second GOP debate tonight; CNN and the RNC changed the rules to allow her in. It was a change that had to be made; Carly is in the top five candidates in many of the latest polls; keeping her out based upon polls from two months ago would have been a travesty. But that's not the point of this post. No, I think that we ought to focus instead on the lies told by CNN in just the last week in an effort to keep Fiorina out.
According to CNN, it couldn't change the rules for the debate because they were publicly announced in July and federal law prohibited changing them. This seemed like a BS excuse when first announced by CNN, but the network said that it just couldn't change the unfair rules without committing a crime. Now, just a few days later, CNN changed the rules.
I know that it is really nothing unusual to accuse the main stream media (like CNN) of dishonesty. Nevertheless, it is unusual to see the media crumble so quickly in the face of outrage. Thank goodness for once that CNN gave up on its lies. It will be fun to see Carly debate the others.
