I just saw the Chicago Tribune article on the confirmation of Dr. Tom Price as Secretary of Health and Human Services. The headline called Price the "polarizing" nominee. It's ridiculous.
Price was confirmed by a vote of 52 to 47. The Chicago paper makes a big deal how no Democrats voted for Price. That hardly makes Price "polarizing". For the entire process, the Democrats have been voting against every nominee put up by President Trump. Jeff Sessions got no Democrat votes. Betsy DeVos got no Democrat votes. Even Rex Tillerson, an nominee who should have been totally uncontroversial only got 4 votes from Democrats.
The simple truth is that the Trump nominees are not polarizing. The Democrats in the senate are making a show for their base of opposing every nominee, no matter what his or her qualifications. It's really disgusting to watch the media try to help the Democrats with their messaging, particularly when that message is so dishonest.
