You may have missed it, but today was "A Day Without Immigrants". Supposedly, illegal immigrants across America were to stay home from work today to show the country just how bad things would be without them. It was a silly idea that blew up in the organizers' faces. How many people saw their lives changed in any way because of the protest? The was no apparent impact here in Connecticut. As far as I can tell, there were a few restaurants in New York City that had to operate with a reduced staff, but that was about it. It seems that the main point made by the illegals was the opposite of what they wanted to do; life went on fine without them.
One thing of importance did come out of today's protest. We now know that in certain restaurants in New York City, there are many illegal aliens on the payroll. This should act as a roadmap for ICE if it is looking for those here illegally.
