Why Don't We Close 22 Embassies

Tomorrow will bring the temporary closure of 22 American embassies and consulates throughout the Middle East.  We are told that this is in response to possible terror attacks from al Qaeda and its affiliates.  It leads me to a few questions:

1.  Why is a one day closure going to make any difference?  There can be a Monday attack just the same as one on Sunday.

2.  Why announce the closure in this way.  Obama and the Obamacrats are such facile liars, they could have shut the embassies and blamed it on furloughs required by the sequester.  It would have been a lie, but America is used to that.

3.  Why shut 22 installations?  If we don't know which one is the target, then perhaps it is yet another one not included in the 22.

4.  Why make the big effort to have the media tell us that this is the right move?  I heard that from coverage on CBS, CNN and MSNBC.  America is not that dumb.  We already know that the administration does not know where the attack (if any) will come.  Why is closing these 22 embassies the right decision?

5.  Does it really make sense to tell America that we are shutting embassies due to credible threats but then not tell us the nature of the threats?  Who do we think we are kidding?

UPDATE -- Now they are saying that the closure will be for at least one day.  How long will it last?  No one seems to know.
