Coywolves -- They're Our Fault

I wrote earlier today about the never ending doom and gloom that comes from environmental doomsayers who keep predicting disaster even though it doesn't come.  For those people, the end is always near, and it is always, always, always the fault of humanity.  In a new twist, there is an article in Business Insider about how humans have created a new predator called a coywolf.  According to the article, this new predator is part wolf, part coyote and even part dog.  The estimate given in the article is that there are over one million of these coywolves across America, mostly in the northeastern part of the continent.  The coywolves are bigger than coyotes but smaller than wolves.  They have the ability to take down deer and also feed on rodents, garbage and the occasional cat.  The hybrid animal is extremely successful in adapting to the current environment.  Oh, and according to the article, humans are at fault for the presence of this animal which first appeared about 100 years ago because we limited the territory available to wolves and coyotes.

I must have missed something, but I thought that one of the laments of the environmentalists was that species were supposedly disappearing due to human activity.  Now we have a new and highly successful species and it is also cause for lamentations.  What's wrong with having this new animal species around?  They will help keep the deer population in check.  They will play the role that predatory animals have always had in keeping other animals healthy and strong by weeding out the weak and sick.  Aren't we all supposed to support and celebrate nature and the natural development of the ecology?  When did the propaganda line change?

There's an oft repeated view that the defining characteristic of liberals and extreme environmentalists is that they are unhappy, angry people.  It certainly seems to be true.

One last note:  who was it who came up with the name Business Insider for that site?  It presents story after story that has nothing to do with business.  It's just another far left media outlet.
