The Senate Democrats just blocked passage of a bill that would have tightened the vetting process for people claiming to be refugees from the fighting in Syria. The bill had already passed the House, and a majority of senators (all Republicans plus one Democrat) voted to end debate so the measure could be decided. The Democrats, however, voted (with one exception) to stop the passage of the bill.
