The Malloy Plan To Bankrupt Connecticut

Governor Malloy of Connecticut is out with a "plan" for massive investment in roads and mass transit.  It's really quite something.  In a state that already has taxes so high that we constantly lose jobs and people, Malloy wants to spend 100 billion dollars that the state doesn't have.  It's a way to bankrupt the state.

I moved to Connecticut over 30 years ago.  At the time, we had no income tax.  The sales tax was much lower.  And the state operated quite well.  Since then, we have had a massive expansion of state spending, much higher taxes (our income tax now exceeds even New York), and an incredible decline in the ability of the state to function properly.  One has to wonder how it is possible that Connecticut can spend so much more money each year and tax people by so much more and yet do so much less.

It really is time to move somewhere else.  Maybe I'll rename my blog and go to a low tax state.
