There were two developments in the approval of the nomination of Jeff Sessions to be Attorney General. First, the Democrats are holding another of their pointless all-nighters to denounce the nomination. There's nothing like making speeches to an empty chamber at 4 AM to show your base that you are really fully in "the fight". In other words, it's a complete waste of time. Second, senator Elizabeth Warren got shut out of the Sessions debate because she broke the rules of the Senate in making her attacks on the Alabama senator. Those rules limit the things that one senator can say about another. Warren crossed the line and the senate as a whole then voted to bar her from further participation in the debate on the Sessions nomination. Sessions will be approved and that is a good thing. Still, the best part of the whole thing has to be watching the Senate tell Cherokee Liz to sit down and shut up.
