Senator Shaheen (D) is leading Scott Brown (R) by 46% to 44%. It is a result within the margin of error. It is also a major move up by Brown from previous polls.
The WMUR polls have a long history in New Hampshire and are generally pretty accurate. This poll could be an outlier, and it may be that Shaheen is still ahead by more than 2%, but these results should be causing some sleepless nights for the Democrats in New Hampshire and Washington. The poll also puts approval of president Obama by New Hampshire voters at the lowest level ever. It seems likely that the putrid performance as president by Obama is pulling down Shaheen.
