American Irrelevance

After all the debates about "American exceptionalism", we have come to the point where the actual debate may need to be about American irrelevance.  Here are the first two sentences of a story in today's Washington Post:

The United Arab Emirates and Egypt have carried out a series of airstrikes in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, U.S. officials said Monday, marking an escalation in the chaotic war among Libya’s rival militias that has driven American and other diplomats from the country.
The Obama administration did not know ahead of time about the highly unusual military intervention, although the United States was aware that action by Arab states might come as the crisis in Libya worsened, said one official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

So Egypt and the UAE use their American supplied aircraft to bomb targets in Libya, but Washington has no prior warning.  In fact, in an attempt to cover up their embarrassment at this event, the Obamacrats actually tell us that they knew such an action "might come".  Hey, a landing by aliens from Mars "might come" tomorrow; that doesn't mean anyone expects it.  The fact is that Egypt and the UAE, two countries that were American allies, bombed Libya and did not bother to tell America ahead of time.

In Libya, the USA under Obama has gone from "leading from behind" to "no boots on the ground" to "no planes in the air" to "no staff at our embassies" to "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."  Obama has so completely retreated from Libya that Egypt and the UAE don't even feel compelled to give us a heads up prior to launching an attack.
