Last week, it was reported that the huge Doel 4 nuclear reactor in Belgium was shut down as a result of sabotage. That's right SABOTAGE!!!! It seems that the system that empties the oil from the turbine system was tampered with. No one knows for sure yet who was responsible for the damage to the system, but it looks like an inside job according to reports.
The plant is a one gigawatt power source, so its loss is quite significant for a country the size of Belgium. One can only imagine, however, the extent of devastation had the sabotage not been discovered and the plant experienced a disaster as a result.
Police are looking at terrorism as a possible cause. Was it ISIS? If so, maybe they need to change their name to Islamic State in Iraq and Belgium or ISIB for short.
There seems to be essentially no coverage in the media of this event. Why?
