Since the Hamas terrorists broke the latest cease fire about a day ago, they have launched 213 missiles towards Israel. The Israelis retaliated with air strikes and artillery. One such strike was directed at the head of the Hamas military wing. His house was hit and he and his family were killed. Hamas claims that the military leader is still alive, but we will only know for sure if we see him again. It is just more of the same.
The amazing thing to me, however, is that almost instantaneously after the strike on the commander's house, the stories started about how this was a war crime by Israel. After all, the man's family was in the house.
This claim is total nonsense. There is no more valid target in war than the leader of one's opponent. If America went to war, would the White House be off limits to attack because the president's family also lives there? Let's use a more realistic example. When bin Laden was killed, how many of his family members and guards also were killed? The answer is MANY. Was that an American war crime? No, and what Israel did is not a war crime either.
Charges of war crimes have gotten to the point that they are like claims of racism made by the Obama administration. Everything political in the USA that opposes Obama is supposedly racism just like everything that Israel does to defend itself is supposedly a war crime. Only an idiot would believe either of those positions, but there are apparently more than enough idiots to go around.
