I watched some of the video of an angry mob in Missouri looting stores and trying to break into ATMs to get cash. It was disgusting. Supposedly, these people are angry because police shot a young man who turned out to be unarmed. I don't know the full details of that encounter, and I am sure that the mob did not know them either. One thing is certain, however: the owners of the stores, the employees of the stores, the banks whose ATMs were attacked and everyone else hurt or whose property was destroyed had NOTHING to do with the shooting. This was not a crowd taking out mob justice on an evil perpetrator; that would be wrong, but at least the emotion is understandable. No, this was looting for fun and pleasure. This was people who saw their chance to get something for nothing and took it. Whether or not the police acted properly in the shooting had nothing to do with what happened.
