Another Day, Another Atrocity

As the Middle East goes these days, today was relatively quiet.  ISIS beheaded another Lebanese soldier the terrorists had captured during an attack on a town in that country.  The family of the murdered prisoner vowed eternal vengeance against all Syrians in Lebanon.  There were a few US air strikes and some fighting by the peshmerga against ISIS.

Things have gotten to the point where only one death by beheading makes this a quiet day.  That's disgusting, but nevertheless it's true.

Maybe by the time president Obama decides on not just a goal with regard to ISIS but an actual strategy for confronting the group, we will be at the point where twenty or forty murders by beheading or crucifixion are nothing special.  The banality of evil increases while Obama ponders what to do.
