Now that Jeff Sessions has been sworn in as Attorney General, there is a vacancy in one of the Alabama senatorial seats. The governor of the state will appoint a successor who will serve until a special election is held in 2018. Word is that the new senator will be current Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange. Strange has already announced that he was running for the senate seat in the special election should Sessions get confirmed (which was never really in doubt.)
I don't really know much about Mr. Strange. I just love his name. Hopefully, his wife's name isn't Bellatrix.
