How Lazy Is CBS?

I just heard the CBS national news report on my car radio at the top of the hour.  One story that CBS "covered" was the kidnapping of three Israeli boys and the search for them.  Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this morning that Hamas was to blame for the kidnapping.  CBS noted this and then played a statement from a spokesman from Hamas who said that Netanyahu's position was "stupid" and just done to attack Hamas which recently rejoined the Palestinian government.  That was it.  CBS did not bother with anything else.

Now I do not pretend to have knowledge about the identity of the kidnappers of these three boys.  I do know, however, that almost immediately after the kidnapping, the spokesman for Hamas in Gaza praised it as a great act.  I also know that the Hamas leadership also called upon Palestinians in the West Bank area where the kidnapping took place to "interfere" with the Israeli police and armed forces looking for the kidnap victims and the criminals who took them. I also have seen the celebration that Hamas coordinated in Gaza to celebrate the great "victory" represented by the kidnapping.  Then there are the new Facebook pages posted by Hamas and Islamic Jihad to proclaim their joy at the great blow inflicted on Israel.  In other words, just from the behavior of Hamas itself, there is no way that anyone could reasonably call Netanyahu's statement "stupid".

Despite all this, CBS just reported the Hamas response without comment and without presenting anything of the other side.  I realize that all of the statements and actions from Hamas that I mentioned above were in Arabic while the "stupid" remark was in English.  That raises the question:  Just how lazy is CBS?
