Will Obama Join the Allies in Iraq?

It is worth noting that there are now three allied armed forces fighting against ISIS in Iraq.  First there is the Iraqi army (and I use that term loosely) which has tried to regroup after collapsing in the face of the ISIS attack.  Then there is the first ally of the Maliki government:  Iran.  As I write this, the forces of the Islamic Republic are on the ground in Iraq.  It seems that there is no aversion to "boots on the ground" in Teheran.  Today brought a new ally into the fight.  Maliki is now getting help from the air forces of the Assad dictatorship in Syria.  Air strikes against ISIS by the Syrians were carried out in a few different locations in Iraq this morning.

I realize that ISIS is a loathsome terrorist army that brings death and destruction to those who it conquers.  Nevertheless, that does not change the fact that both Iran and Assad's Syria are loathsome state sponsors of terrorist activity who bring death and destruction to those who they rule.

Here's a suggestion for president Obama:  be careful who you make an American ally.
