Missing the Goal by 85%

There is an article today by Sharyl Attkisson which is a must read for anyone who wants to get full knowledge about the results achieved by Obamacare.  Attkisson examines just how many people are newly insured due to Obamacare and compares that with the original goal of the statute.  After some diligent digging, Attkisson found that the numbers show that Obamacare got insurance for only about 15% of the uninsured that it was supposed to help.  That's less than four million newly insured instead of the goal of 26 million people who were supposed to get insurance for the first time.

Think about that.  The cost of insurance for the average individual went up substantially while the coverage afforded by that insurance was reduced through higher deductibles and smaller networks.  Millions of people saw their policies cancelled even though those people were, for the most part, satisfied with what they had.  All sorts of restrictions and regulations have added billions of dollars to medical costs across the country without improving care one bit.  And the government has imposed literally trillions of dollars of new taxes which have sucked funds out of the economy and reduced economic growth.  On top of this millions of jobs have been affected as employers struggled to make sure they did not have more than fifty employees working 30 hours or more per week.  So all that was done to get insurance for 4 million people?  FOUR MILLION PEOPLE!!!  When seven million people had their policies cancelled due to Obamacare, the White House response was that those affected were just a tiny portion of the American people.  Now we learned that only about half that tiny portion actually got the benefit from Obamacare despite disrupting the entire economy and spending trillions of dollars that we don't have.

If anyone out there thinks that Obamacare is here to stay, I suggest that they think again.
