A whole host of media outlets are blaring headlines this morning about the revelation in a new book that Hillary Clinton is suffering from serious heart problems. To summarize, Hillary has suffered from a series of fainting spells over recent years which have been the result of blood clots (including one near her brain), and she also has major problems with the valves in her heart. According to the book, the doctors who are treating her have warned Hillary and Bill that she will need close monitoring for the rest of her life.
Most of the coverage so far has been taken up with commentary on whether or not this sort of major medical problem will disqualify Hillary from ever being elected president. For me, however, that is not the big story here. No, I think we should focus on something truly surprising that comes out of this news: Hillary Clinton has a heart! Who knew?
