After listening to tonight's Congressional hearing where the commissioner testified, the thought that kept popping into my mind is that the head of the IRS thinks that he is a game show contestant. Do you remember the old TV show "To Tell The Truth"? Three people, all claiming to be the same person, would answer questions asked by a panel which would then guess which one was telling the truth. IRS commissioner Koskinen seems to be pretending to be someone other than the head of the IRS. He acts as if he has nothing to do with everything that happens at the IRS, as if he has no responsibility for that agency. He seems clearly to be trying to fool the Congressional panel into thinking that someone else is actually the head of the IRS.
The problem for the IRS and the entire Obama administration, however, is that the days when no one noticed the lying and the game playing are over. More and more Americans have come to realize that neither the president nor his people can be believed when they speak. There are now statements made under oath by the Attorney General, the Director of National Intelligence, the Commissioner of the IRS, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Secretary of Veterans' Affairs, and many others which are demonstrably and intentionally false. Then there are repeated statements by Obama himself that turned out to be lies. On top of that you have all the lies told by Harry Reid in the Senate. We have reached the point where it is interesting to find an honest person in the administration; liars have come to be found everywhere in Obamaland.
In the last few days, Obama and John Kerry have been talking about how to restore trust in the government of Iraq. Given all that has happened, perhaps Obama would better spend his time trying to restore t
