Seventy Years

It has been 70 years since D-Day.  Most of us weren't even alive on that morning in June of 1944 when allied forces stormed ashore on the beaches of Normandy, but the lives of each of us have been influenced by what happened there.  D-Day marked the beginning of the end of Nazi Germany and the return, at least partially, of sanity to the world.  Indeed, it is hard to imagine what life on Earth would be like had Europe not been liberated at that point.

We should not forget the sacrifices made on those beaches.  Nor should we forget the simple greatness of those who fought there.  These were men who risked their lives for their countries, for their honorable cause, and for their fellow man.  We all need to remember!
