There's Too Many Scandals and Disasters To Keep Up With Them

The incredible spate of scandals and disasters facing Americans each day just keeps growing.  If you have the impression that things are out of control, that is actually because things are out of control.  In just the last month we have had (1) the VA scandal with veterans actually dying while awaiting medical care that never came, (2) the release of five terrorist leaders of the Taliban including one who was in charge of part of the 9-11 attack by al Qaeda, (3) the unraveling of the Obama administration stories about Bowe Bergdahl and the swap (I know this is related to the previous item, but it is so bad that it deserves its own place on the list, (4) the collapse of the 200,000 man Iraqi army in the face of an attack by fewer than 5000 members of the terrorist group ISIS, (5) the importation of Iranian forces into Iraq with all the problems that brings (again, this is related to the previous item, but it is such a disaster that it merits a place of its own, (6) the clearly phony announcement that the emails that Congress has been requesting from the IRS for the last year were somehow "lost" by the IRS, (7) the release of proposed regulations by the EPA that would have the effect of destroying the coal industry and substantially raising the cost of electric energy for consumers across America combined with president Obama telling us that the opposite is true, and many more like the avalanche of illegal alien children pouring across the southern border of this country and the Russian attack on Ukraine.  Every single one of these disasters merits the full attention of the American people and a reasoned response from the federal government.  The problem, however, is that there are so many calamities that none are getting adequate attention.

Right now, the president is busy trying to posture for the elections that will be here in just under five months.  Nothing much will happen in the interim.  That is not good enough.  Oh, some of the problems can wait for five months, but issues like Iraq, Ukraine, the illegal aliens, and others need clear leadership now.
