To call the handling by the Obama White House of the swap of Sgt. Bergdahl for five terrorist leaders a fiasco is to be extremely biased in favor of president Obama and his staff. This mess has gone so poorly that it does not rise to the level of a fiasco. Each time we think we have heard the absolute worst, the debacle just gets worse. Today's latest is that DNI Clapper told the Senate during the recent briefing on the subject that the released Taliban leaders are likely to return to terrorism in the near future. This directly contradicts what the Obama administration has been saying about the released terrorist leaders. On top of this, the senator Feinstein of California is now saying that after reviewing all the evidence there is no indication that Sgt. Bergdahl's life was in any way threatened prior to his release. Again, this statement from a Democrat senate leader is a direct contradiction of the talking points put out by the White House.
When there are Obama talking points released, it is usually Republicans who are contesting their validity. This time, however, we have a very senior Democrat and Obama's own head of intelligence who are pointing out that the White House talking points are false.
How much worse can this get for Obama?
