Reporting the News

The IRS told us the other day that it had "lost" over two years of emails sent by Lois Lerner because her computer had crashed a few years ago.  Then we learned yesterday that the IRS also happened to lose the email of six other important figures in the scandal surrounding the IRS' targeting of conservative and Christian groups.  These supposed losses were also blamed on computer crashes.

None of these claims by the IRS are likely to be true.  In fact, the entire story seems so clearly to be a cover up designed to keep the truth from coming out that this adds an entirely new chapter to the story of IRS misconduct.  So how is this being covered in the media?  It's a really big story right?  Well, apparently many major news outlets don't think so.  The New York Times has not been even reporting on the story.  They didn't relegate it to page 36 and downplay it.  The Times did not even mention it.  And how about the major broadcast TV network news shows.  They too hardly mentioned the story.

The next time someone tells you that the mainstream media in America does not support president Obama, ask them about this IRS cover up.  Ask them why (other than to protect Obama) the media would not cover a story about the IRS lying to Congress and the American people.  When they tell you, and they will, that the IRS scandal was created by the Republicans just to embarrass Obama, remind them that the IRS itself was the source of the story in the first place.  Remind them that Obama said he was outraged (at least at first) and that he fired the IRS commissioner as a result.  Remind them that the IRS is the source of the story about the supposed series of convenient computer crashes.  The Republicans had nothing to do with the story other than asking for copies of the email in the first place.  Then ask them again why the media did not cover a story about the IRS lying to Congress.  When the stammering stops, just smile and say, "That's what I thought."

UPDATE:  The Times is now out with a short story online about the missing emails.  I guess they read too many stories about how the Times was not bothering to cover the story.  Now they can say that they did.

I heard a computer guru on FOX the other night that said, these emails absolutely CAN BE retrieved, Someone just has to want to have it done. This can only be being directed from The White house Admin Team. Open all the Whitehouse emails from their team for the same 2 yr. time period, Guess what will be found? Wow, Ouch, BOING
