"Swift Boating" Bergdahl

Chuck Todd of NBC News is clearly a friend of the Obama White House.  Nevertheless, he is reporting that he was told by "White House sources" that they were surprised by the response to the Bergdahl swap for terrorist leaders because they did not expect the other soldiers to be "swift boating" Bergdahl.  Do you remember "swift boating"?  That is a term that the Democrats threw at the men who served with John Kerry in Vietnam.  The Swift Boat Veterans For Truth ran ads that made clear that Kerry had lied about his service in Vietnam and also brought up his attacks on the troops once he returned to the USA.  The Democrats considered all these ads to be vile and unfair attacks with little of the truth in them.  There is no need to argue now the validity of the swift boat attack ads directed at Kerry; it is enough to say that many of them just used video of Kerry himself speaking so it is hard to call them lies.  The point, however, is that the Obama White House is now using the same response to the men who served with Bergdahl in Afghanistan.  The White House is calling them liars.  It is a new low for a White House that I had believed could sink no lower.

The import of this report by Chuck Todd is so great, that he was questioned about its validity.  Todd stood by his report; the White House is charging the vets with swift boating Bergdahl.

PRESIDENT OBAMA NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE FOR THIS ATTACK.  I know that Obama and his people have little appreciation for America's fighting men and women, but that does not justify attack those people for coming forward to tell the truth.  And it is the truth!  Bergdahl did not serve with honor and distinction as Susan Rice claimed.  He was not captured on the field of battle as Rice announced.  Indeed, the army never even classified him as a POW because he walked away of his own volition.  Folks can argue if Bergdahl was AWOL or a deserter (although in a war zone there is not much difference.)  No one, however, can argue that men died while searching for Bergdahl.  Even that moron Chuck Hagel could not bring himself to deny that fact; he just said he did not know of any such men.  Of course, Chuck Hagel saying he does not know something is like breathing for the rest of us.
