In a rather ridiculous move, Chuck Schumer and his entire Democrat leadership team refused to meet with the new nominee for the Supreme Court, Judge Neil Gorsuch. This is supposed to be retaliation for the GOP not moving on Obama's nomination of Merrick Garland for the same position. The problem, however, is that there is a big difference between the two nominations. Garland had no chance of being confirmed; there was no reason to meet with him. Gorsuch is almost certainly going to be confirmed, and that changes everything.
One has to wonder just who Schumer and the Schumerians think will benefit by their show of disdain for the nominee. The Democrat base will probably like the move; I can hear them all at home screaming "That'll show Trump!" Of course, the rest of the country will just see this as more behavior for which they would punish their kids if they did it.
Congrats to Schumer and the Schumerians for acting like idiots.
