Let's Tell Obama that ISIS Means "I Seek Increased Smog"

President Obama is coming out with a new "environmental" regulation that will (1) drive up the cost of electric power for all Americans, (2) reduce economic growth and (3) have no appreciable effect on global warming.  Oh, and did I mention that it will drive the coal industry close to extinction?

Obama is unilaterally increasing the requirements for reduction of power plant emissions of so called greenhouse gases in a new regulation.  The effect will be to force utilities to stop using coal fired plants and to switch to the much more costly and less reliable solar and wind power plants.  There will also be a move to natural gas plants as well, but these are next on the target list.  The supposed reason for the regulation is to fight climate change.

There are some big problems with this move.  First, there doesn't appear to be any climate change.  For the last 18 years, temperatures have not risen at all.  This means that the models on which all climate change predictions are base are WRONG.  We never get any coherent response from the global warming hysterics as to why the models have been so wrong; they just tell us over and over that it is "settled science".  (So was the flat earth.)  It is essentially insane to disrupt the entire American economy to fight something that seems not to be there.

Second, the new regulations will raise the cost of power for everyone.  Wind power and solar power are great, but they both cost much more than power obtained from burning coal or natural gas.  That increased cost will be paid by all Americans in the form of higher electric bills.  The higher power costs will also mean that America will become less competitive with other countries when it comes to locating new business ventures.  That means less growth and fewer jobs.

Third, after all is said and done, this regulation will have no effect on global warming.  That is not the word of some skeptic; it is the analysis of the global warming hysterics themselves.

So we have the president of the USA inflicting pain and suffering on the American economy and the American people in the service of a theory that seems wrong all to accomplish nothing.

Maybe if we told Obama that ISIS means "I Seek Increased Smog", he would finally begin to think about how to fight that group.
