The Answer in Black and White

With all the fuss about the supposed Comey memo of his meeting with President Trump which the media and the Democrats contend is Trump directing Comey to stop the Russia investigation, it's important to remember what Comey himself has said.  More precisely, here is a snippet of the testimony Comey himself gave just two weeks ago before a Senate Committee in response to questions from senator Hirono, a Democrat from Hawaii:

HIRONO: So if the Attorney General or senior officials at the Department of Justice opposes a specific investigation, can they halt that FBI investigation?
COMEY: In theory yes.
HIRONO: Has it happened?
COMEY: Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something that -- without an appropriate purpose. I mean where oftentimes they give us opinions that we don't see a case there and so you ought to stop investing resources in it. But I'm talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason, that would be a very big deal. It's not happened in my experience.

Comey says under oath that the FBI has not be told to stop any investigation, ever for a political reason.  In other words, Comey was either committing perjury by lying under oath (which I reject) or Comey did not think that whatever Trump said to him was an interference in the investigation.

This is key since we don't have the memo so we have no idea what else Comey may have written, nor what else Trump or Comey may have said, nor what Comey understood Trump to mean.  Comey's testimony, however, tells us that the spin from the media and the Democrats is wrong.

This is not just my opinion.  I've heard it expressed by many, including Rush Limbaugh.  I just went back to find the actual testimony given by Comey so everyone could see it in black and white.
