Finally, the Mainstream Media Starts Paying Attention

It has actually happened.  The mainstream media is picking up the true story about the Benghazi coverup by the Obama White House and the State Department.  ABC News is reporting that the original talking points prepared by the CIA to explain the Benghazi attacks clearly stated (on the day after the attacks) that this had been a terrorist plot and not a spontaneous protest.  Then ABC explains that among other things it has an email from Secretary Clinton's representative Victoria Nuland saying that State did not want to give ammunition that Congress could use to point out that requests for additional security had been denied and warnings of possible terror attacks had been ignored.  Somehow, after that, the talking points were changed to take out all references to there having been any terrorist involvement, and warnings prior to the attack and any requests for security.  It became a spontaneous protest about a youtube video.  In other words, the report to the American people got changed from the truth to a lie at the request of Clinton's representative to withhold information that might make the State Department and president Obama look bad.

Let me say this again:  THIS IS ABC NEWS!!  It is not Fox or the Weekly Standard or a conservative blog.  This is the mainstream media finally reporting on the actual scandal.

My guess is the there is going to a whole lot more coverage now that ABC has broken ranks with the networks protecting Obama.  The story is just too big and too well documented to ignore.  Oh, this will still be a Republican plot to the folks at MSNBC, but all the people who actually think that they are journalists will be forced now to recognize reality.

Two last notes:  First, ABC claims this is an exclusive and breaking story.  It is not.  Steve Hayes broke the story in great detail at the Weekly Standard about a week ago.  It does not matter.  If ABC covers this story, they can call it an exclusive; it is fine by me.

Second, I wonder if this is the start of the Obama administration using Secretary Clinton as the target to deflect any blame from Obama himself.  Clinton no longer has the State Department to defend her.  If the Obamacrats decide that she has to be brought down to distract from the issue of where Obama was and what he did during the attack on an American embassy, then that is a price Obama would be only too happy to pay.  After all, there is still no love lost between Obama and the Clintons.
