This Was National -- The VA Coverup

The latest news reports tell us that another ten VA hospitals (this time in the Midwest) have been discovered to be keeping a secret appointment list for the veterans they treat.  At each of these government facilities, veterans seeking care are placed on the secret list until there is only two weeks or so left until their appointments; then they are put on the "official" list.  In this way, the facility can claim that it is keeping current with the veterans being served and -- most important of all -- the administrators can qualify for large bonuses paid by the federal government.  The number of hospitals where this practice was used has now grown so large that I have lost track of the total.  We know that the problem was present in every area of the country.  We know that the problem was used at hospitals treating literally hundreds of thousands of veterans each year.  Indeed, it seems that the problem infected a majority of the BA system.  What began as a scandal in Phoenix at one hospital has now changed into a national disgrace that reveals the complete dishonesty, greed and callousness of the people running the Department of Veterans' Affairs and those who work there.

Just imagine.  A department of people working for the federal government came to the conclusion that they could lie about appointment status, mislead the public, profit by that lie and get away with it despite the terrible harm that they were doing to the very Americans they were supposed to be helping.  How could they ever have thought such a thing?  Could it be because their boss, president Obama does the same thing over and over again?  Regarding Benghazi, Obama lied about the terrorist attack, misled the public about the cause, profited by the lie in the election and basically got away with the lie.  In passing Obamacare, Obama lied about keeping policies and doctors and reducing cost, misled the public through speech after speech where he made those claims, got an Obamacare bill passed which would have failed had Obama told the truth, and got away with it.  When the IRS targeted conservatives and Christian groups, Obama had the nerve to tell America that he had no idea it had been happening.  He repeated that claim for a while and then switched to the lie that there was no "corruption" in the illegal conduct.  Obama profited from this matter when his opposition was crippled during the 2012 election cycle and Obama squeaked through to re-election.  Here too, he seems to have gotten away with the whole thing.  Is there any doubt where the VA folks came up with their strategy?

My prediction is that today or tomorrow we will hear a spokesman for the administrative employees of the VA announce that they have just learned of the widespread practice of keeping secret lists by hearing news reports on the subject.  This spokesman will announce that the people he represents are "mad as hell" about this and are going to investigate to get to the bottom of what happened.
