There are now enough Democrats in the senate to sustain a veto by president Obama if the Iran deal is voted down. Right now, however, Democrats are trying to filibuster that vote so that the senate never goes on record either way. It's unbelievable that on a deal this important, the goal of the Democrats is to avoid having to vote on the issue.
This turn of events proves two things:
1. The Democrats see the Iran deal not as a serious issue of national security, but rather as a political game they are trying to win. Their voting records are more important to them than the safety of the American people.
2. The Democrats now own the Iran deal. Just as the Democrats own Obamacare, there is no way that the Democrat nominee in 2016 can avoid responsibility if the Iran deal goes south. In fact, if the Democrat wins in 2016, that president will be hostage to the Iran deal and will have to avoid making waves when Iran violates the terms of the deal (as it surely will).
What a mess.
