Bernie Sanders published a column in USA Today explaining why he wants to require states to let convicted criminals in jail vote. It's an amazing demonstration of just how stubborn Bernie really is. Sanders is pushing a view that is opposed by 80% of the American people according to recent polling. Sanders is holding to this position even as it has resulted in his support in the polls evaporating. Two polls came out in the last two days that show Sanders sinking from being neck and neck with Biden to being way behind. In one poll Sanders actually came in one point behind Elizabeth Warren. Sanders' crumbling poll numbers don't seem to matter to him, though. This is a guy who thinks he knows the answer to everything and who won't change no matter what.
It's a good thing that Sanders' rigid adherence to ideological positions will be his undoing. Americans want leaders who accomplish things, not ones who stick with an ideology that the country does not accept.
