A Remarkable Statement

The White House has announced that president Obama is not going to change his strategy for dealing with the avalanche of children who are illegally crossing the border into the USA.  Indeed, the Obama administration is not even going to reassess that strategy.  So says Josh Earnest, the White House spokesman.

So far this year around 60,000 children have come to the USA illegally and unaccompanied by their parents.  In the past, the highest number of such children to arrive in any one year was 5000.  That means that in half a year we already have twelve times more arrivals than in any previous entire year.

These latest statements led me to one particularly difficult question to answer:  what is Obama's strategy for dealing with these kids?  Do you know?  Does anyone know?  Does even Obama know?  The truth is that there is no strategy being employed here by the federal government.  Obama has the government doing nothing to stop the influx of illegals; INS is only trying to deal with those who arrive by spreading them around the country.

What is the point of having laws that prohibit illegal entry into the country if these laws are just ignored by the Obama administration?  Why does anyone care about so called comprehensive immigration reform when the laws on the books make no difference?

What would happen if everyone refused to pay taxes and then just called for comprehensive tax reform if questioned about that non-compliance?  That, in essence, seems to be Obama's immigration strategy.
