The Distorted View of Delusion

Juliet Eilperin is a reporter at the Washington Post who slavishly reports the Obama view of the world in that paper.  For the most part, her articles read more like talking points from the DNC than actual news.  Today, she is reporting on Obama getting out to America.  Here is a sample of her report:

There are several forces driving Obama’s restlessness, ... It is clear he has become increasingly frustrated with both GOP opposition to his policies and mainstream news coverage of domestic issues. He points out that Republicans have voted down or blocked every one of his legislative proposals aimed at boosting the economy.

This was not meant to be ironic or sarcastic.  Eilperin actually means what she writes.  No doubt she would be dumbfounded were someone to ask her to list "every one of his [Obama's] legislative proposals aimed at boosting the economy."  In truth, there are no such proposals.  Obama did ask for funding pre-K schooling across the country, but there was not even a bill offered on that one.  And of course, it is hard to see how sending four year olds to pre-K will increase the growth rate of the economy next year.  (Okay, it is not hard to see that; the pre-K would have no discernible effect on the economy except for the hiring of a few teachers.)  Obama also wanted to extend emergency unemployment benefits for the long term unemployed when they expired last January.  There was, however, no vote on this even in the Senate controlled by the Democrats.  Further, Obama keeps telling us how unemployment is now down to normal levels, so where's the emergency?  That's all; that's the Obama economic program.  NOTHING!!!!

And Obama is frustrated by the mainstream news coverage of domestic issues?  Obama has received the most ridiculously favorable coverage from a biased news media of any president in living memory.  The problem is not coverage of domestic issues; the problem is the way Obama fails to handle those issues.

But Eilperin reports all this nonsense as if it were news.  She never bothers with the actual facts.
