In the last few election cycles, there have been some memorable gaffes as candidates have said things that have cost them elections. We can all remember Todd Akin in Missouri who spoke about the likelihood of pregnancy after "legitimate rape". That remark cost Akin a senate seat. Today, we don't have a remark; instead we have actual conduct by a senate candidate that ought to disqualify her for office as well. The candidate in question is Michelle Nunn, the Democrat candidate for senate in Georgia. It turns out that the foundation that Nunn used to head funneled large sums of money to Hamas front organizations. Aside from her family connections, Nunn's work at the head of the foundation is the only item on her resume supporting her candidacy. Now it turns out that with Nunn at the helm, the foundation was shoveling money to terrorists.
I do not know if Nunn knowingly gave the cash to the terrorists; that will likely come out in the future. It is clear, however, that in a small organization, Nunn either intentionally sent money to a terror group or she was so inept as a leader that she did not realize that the foundation she led was funneling the cash to Hamas. Without a doubt, this should signal the end of the Nunn campaign.
I know that the media is likely to avoid covering this story to the fullest extent possible. Nunn, afterall, is a Democrat and a woman, so the media will work to protect her. Nevertheless, the facts are just too explosive to keep this one under wraps for very long. A state like Georgia is unlikely to send Nunn to Washington as its senator.
