We Have A Winner -- Dumbest Statement of the Week

Usually, it is impossible to pick the dumbest statement of the week coming from Washington; there are just too many to keep up the judging.  This week, however, we have a clear winner:  Nancy Pelosi's discussion of the fighting in Gaza.  Here is the key section of what Pelosi had to say on CNN to Candy Crowley:

"And we have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that Hamas is a humanitarian organization."

Think about the incredible stupidity of that statement.  In the last two months, Hamas arranged the kidnapping and murder of Israeli children, fired hundreds of missiles at Israel when the Israelis arrested members of Hamas during the search for the kidnapped boys, sent terrorist teams to Israel in attempts to kidnap and murder civilians living near Gaza, put and used military targets like rocket launchers and military headquarters in hospitals, schools and mosques, and refused a series of cease fire proposals that could have ended the bloodshed in Gaza.  But Pelosi calls them "humanitarian"?  Many of these acts qualify as war crimes under international law, but Pelosi calls them humanitarian.

If you ever needed proof that the woman who the Democrats elect as their leader in the House is a moron, you should look no further than this latest pronouncement.  What will she says next?  Maybe one of these:

1.  Mother Teresa was a mass murderer.
2.  Justin Bieber is the world's strongest man.
3.  Osama bin Laden was not evil; he was just misunderstood.
4.  Margaret Thatcher was wishy-washy.
5.  John Kerry is intelligent.
