Peggy Noonan is one of the few columnists who truly has insight into the political scene. Her latest column in the Washington Post is about how president Obama has given up trying to do his job. I will not try to paraphrase Peggy Noonan; nobody could put it better than she. I suggest that you read the column here. I do, however, want to quote her final paragraphs which need to be read and understood by all Americans:
It is weird to have a president who has given up. So many young journalists diligently covering this White House, especially those for whom it is their first, think what they're seeing is normal.
It is not. It is unprecedented and deeply strange. And, because the world is watching and calculating, unbelievably dangerous.
