There are a bunch of articles across the internet quoting Sarah Palin as announcing that she favors the impeachment of president Obama. What a joke! Why waste any time or effort on a plan that cannot and will not work. Clearly, Obama has ignored his duties under the Constitution, and that ought to be an impeachable offense. But seriously? Impeachment? What makes Palin think that there could ever be a two thirds majority in the Senate to rid the country of Obama? There are 55 Democrats and 45 Republicans in the Senate. There is no way that any of the Democrats are going to support impeachment, so there is no way that Obama could ever be convicted were the House to vote for impeachment.
It is important for Republicans and conservatives not to fall into the trap of pushing for impeachment. That move would play into the hands of the media and the Democrats who want to portray the GOP as a party of wild eyed crazies. Let's keep the focus on what needs to be done to help America. In other words, someone should tell Palin to keep her mouth shut.
