Yesterday, President Trump met with the head of the Palestinian Authority, president Abbas. The meeting seemed cordial, but little substance of the discussions has been revealed. It would be nice to think that the Palestinian decided to suddenly become reasonable in his demands, but that is too much to expect. More likely, we are about to witness another round of fruitless discussions with little or not progress in settling the Arab-Israeli dispute. Hopefully, President Trump put Abbas on notice that the old days under Obama are finally over. The USA will no longer negotiate for the Palestinians against the Israelis. We shall soon see.
